Tap Take a photo on the Scan tab, or Choose receipt photos to pick several at once. Lay the receipt flat in good light and fill the screen with it.
Take one photo of the top part, open the receipt in the app, and tap Take a photo of the next part. The app joins the photos and reads the receipt again. When you pick several photos at once, parts of one long receipt are joined automatically.
The items, savings and tax did not add up to the total, the "You saved" number did not match, or the photo showed more than one receipt. Fix any misread line, or compare with the paper receipt and tap "I checked it, it's right". Until then it is not counted in your totals and shows as "waiting for you to check".
Open the receipt and type the number from the paper receipt in "The receipt's You saved number is". That number is used from then on.
Open the receipt and pick the date of the trip. Receipts with no date, a date in the future, or a date more than 3 months ago are not counted until you check the date.
The camera permission is turned off. Tap Open Settings on the Scan tab (or open your phone Settings, find Neon Savings Check) and turn on Camera. You can always choose photos you already took instead.
In Settings tap Make a backup file, choose With photos, and save it to your email, Files, iCloud Drive or Google Drive. On the new phone install the app, then Settings > Restore from a backup file.
The app was built and tested with grocery receipts from Tulsa, OK, including Reasor's-style receipts. Receipts from other US grocery stores usually work but may need more fixing by hand. The app is not made by, affiliated with, or endorsed by any store.
Your receipts stay on your phone. See the privacy policy.
Not affiliated with or endorsed by Reasor's or any other store. Neon Savings Check is an independent app; store names are used only to describe which receipts it can read, and they belong to their owners.
